Scotland is the birth place of the finest of whiskies that exists in today’s world. Nobody can make whisky the way the Scotch do. Many countries have done their best to duplicate the success of the Scotts but in vain. Scotch still remains the best whisky ever produced.

Since Scotland is the birth place of all whisky, it sports tons of distilleries across the entire country. There are several whisky tours that Scotland offers.

Orkney or Campbeltown

There are many tours that offer you well trained and qualified guides. You can visit distilleries right from Orkney to Campbeltown and Skye to Edinburgh. Some of the distilleries that are usually not open to the public are kind enough to offer tours and tasting to several of the touring companies.

Some of the tours can even arrange the manager or someone in the staff to take you around the distillery. An average tour should take you at least about two full hours. No matter what you think, every distillery is different. So if you think you have seen one, it is as good as seeing all, your wrong. Each distillery is unique. And yes the tastes and flavors at every distillery are different.

If you plan to book a tourist package in order to visit the distilleries, it is recommended that you keep aside at least 2-3 days for this purpose because there are various distilleries in the region. Most of the tours do their best to take you to distilleries that may best entertain you. They will ask you about what your taste is, what kind of malt you like, they will enquire about which part of Scotland you would like to visit? Etc. based on your answers they will take you to touring. So basically you direct them to what you would like to see and experience in Scotland.
